Rocket Music Collective was started in September 2014 at Richard Montgomery High School by Kevin Pan and Ben Rosenberg as a way to share their favorite artists with other students. The club has published music related content in every issue of the school paper, The Tide, with the help of Andy Kostka who was the editor in chief. In May of 2015, the online edition was launched with the help of co-founder John Lynch. Since then, Rocket Music Collective has expanded to become a professional media organization dedicated to covering any topic related to music including news, album reviews, concert reviews, and much more. Rocket Music Collective now receives 1,000 visitors per day on average and is expected to continue growing as time goes on. Our mission still remains the same as it was from day one: Spread our passion for music with as many people as we can.
Rocket Music Collective officially came to an end on April 24, 2016, when it ran its last article, a goodbye letter, in the print edition of The Tide. The decision was together by the four club founders: Kevin Pan, Ben Rosenberg, John Lynch, and Andy Kostka. Kevin will be studying journalism at Ohio University. Ben will be playing lacrosse for the Naval Academy, John will be studying communications at James Madison University, and Andy will be studying journalism at the University of Maryland. Although Rocket Music Collective no longer meets or functions as a club, articles may occasionally still be posted to this website. The founders would like to thank everyone who has supported them over the last two years, we couldn’t have done it without all our readers. Thank you.
